Building my Proton Pack

{Building a Proton Pack}

When I set out to Build a Proton Pack I knew it was going to be a challenge. It was a matter of Money and Time, and searching for the right parts. Luckily I was able to find everything I needed from GBFans.com and through Crix who provided me the Soundboard.

 When I first thought of doing my Proton Pack, I hadn't considered inserting Sound Effects. After realizing how much time and effort was going to go into this thing I thought it had to be done. If I'm going to have one Proton Pack why shouldn't it be the best I can make it?

The Sound Board is from Crix:

Here are the little Knick Knacks that go all over the Proton Wand, such as switches and tubing. I even bought some Lens covers for the blinking SloBlo Light.

I got these items from AllElectronics.com, but they had a store nearby so I got to buy them in person. I recommend checking their site for some great deals on switches, tubing, lights, and cheap speakers for your sound board!

This is actually the 16 BLUE LED PowerCell light, I bought this separately from everything else and regretted it. In order to make this easier I would recommend talking to Crix about getting you the lighting kit that works with his Sound Board.

SO MUCH EASIER!

You may end up spending about $140, but you will save tons of time on programming, wiring etc.

 This has got to be the most annoying part for me, but only because I was looking for this when GBFans.com was out of stock. So I ended up searching all over the place and couldn't find anything as good as GBFans 3/4" Splitless Wire Loom.

It was worth the wait, it is definitely the better option than buying split wire loom.

Resin Prop Proton Wand, Spray painted with Matte Paint.

Bought a 9" Baking Pan from Ralph's. The lady gave it to for $1 because it didn't have a price tag on it!

The Final Product will be posted up here soon! I will have it all put together in the coming weeks. As you can see up above, I have everything except the wiring for the sound effects and lights needs to be installed into the gun and run up through the Wire Loom. After that I will drill new holes for the Cyclotron, and have those lights shining through.

  1. The proton pack on the Omni cover above is mine. It took a little over a month to build. It's mostly made of wood & PVC.
